Wingman – Privacy Policy

Overview
Wingman (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a mobile companion app for pilots. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using Wingman, you agree to this policy.

Data We Collect
1) Account & Profile (provided by you) – Linked to you
- Name, email
- Pilot details you enter (certificate grade/number, medical class & dates)
- Configuration choices (GA / Corporate)
2) App Content You Create – Linked to you
- Logbook entries (flights, landings, approaches, notes)
- Currency dates/status, training due dates
- Expenses and invoices you add (amounts, categories, notes)
3) Device & Usage Data – May be linked to you
- Device model, OS version, app version
- Basic usage events (feature opens, errors) for stability and support
- Push notification token (if you opt in)
- Identifiers we generate (e.g., Wingman user ID) to run core features including purchases
4) Purchase Information – Linked to you
- Subscription product ID, status, and receipts/entitlements via Apple and our purchase processor (IAPHUB)
How We Use Data
- Provide core features (logbook, currency tracking, expenses, invoices)
- Operate subscriptions, verify entitlements, and restore purchases
- Send operational and currency notifications you enable
- Improve reliability, diagnose issues, prevent abuse
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
Legal bases: performance of contract, consent (e.g., notifications), and legitimate interests (app security, improvement).
Sharing & Processors
We share data only with service providers that help us run the app. They process data on our instructions and under contract:
- Apple (App Store, subscriptions, receipts, server‑to‑server notifications)
- IAPHUB (in‑app purchase/entitlement processing)
- OneSignal (push notifications, if enabled)
- Google (Google Sheets for your exportable spreadsheets)
- Zapier (automations you trigger, e.g., creating personal Sheets)
- Weather/aviation data providers (e.g., METAR/TAF lookups) for the queries you request
- Hosting & analytics used to operate and improve Wingman
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Data Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently remove personal data from active systems within 30 days (backups may persist for up to 90 days and are then purged on a rolling basis). We may retain minimal records as required by law or for fraud prevention.
Your Choices & Rights
- Access & Edit: View and update your profile, logbook, and expenses in‑app.
- Export: Use the in‑app Export buttons to access your spreadsheets.
- Notifications: Toggle push notifications in‑app or via device settings.
- Deletion: Use the in‑app delete account option, or email us below.
If you’re in a region with specific privacy rights (e.g., GDPR/CCPA/CPRA), you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction by contacting us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method is 100% secure, but we work to keep Wingman resilient and reliable.
Children
Wingman is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect such data. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
International Transfers
We may process data in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. We use appropriate safeguards when transferring data across borders.
Changes
We may update this policy as we improve Wingman. We will post changes here with a new effective date and, if material, provide in‑app notice.

In Apple’s App Privacy questionnaire, Wingman may disclose collection of:
- Contact Info (email) – linked to you
- Identifiers (Wingman user ID, push token) – linked to you
- User Content (logbook, expenses) – linked to you
- Usage Data (app interactions, diagnostics) – may be linked to you
- Purchases (subscription status) – linked to you
We do not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.
